Southwest Harbor -- Barbara Bracy 73, passed away peacefully in her home February 8, 2017. Barbara was born December 3rd 1943 in Portland Maine, daughter of Solomon M. and Eleanor C. Blanchard.

Barbara graduated from Falmouth High School class of 1962. In 1967 Barbara married Lester C. Bracy of Great Cranberry Island. They made their home in Southwest Harbor where she has lived for 50 years. She enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking, time with friends and family. She loved time with her granddaughter DeLaney including road trips to Lubec to visit family.

Barbara is survived by her children Lester Bracy Jr. and wife Candance, James Bracy and wife Suzanne, Carol French and husband Jonathan, Cathy Michaud and husband James; her siblings Mary Seiler, Patricia Faunce, Carol Layden, Elizabeth Alley, Robert Blanchard, Margaret Brown, and Eleanor Blanchard; and her grandchildren Alex, Chris, Phillip, Jamie, Johnathan, Corey, Andrew, CeCelia, Haydn, DeLaney, Elliot and William.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Lester C. Bracy Sr., parents Solomon and Eleanor Blanchard, brother John Blanchard, and sister Nancy Doughty.

Graveside services will be held, 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Bunker Cemetery, Great Cranberry Island. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert
