Robert Alan  Clark (Robert Phippen)
Hancock, ME/Florida -- Robert Alan Phippen Clark, died March 29, 2018 in Santa Rose Beach, FL. He was born in Bangor, June 2, 1933 the son of Francis and Elizabeth Phippen.

He attended Mount Desert Ferry School and the old Hancock Corner School. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1950 where he played football, baseball, basketball and track and was named "The Best Looking Boy of 1950". In 1951 he joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. After serving 10 years in the Air Force he moved to Florida with his wife, Janet Cox and daughter Sandra. Robert worked in the space program and on the Apollo Project. In 1978 he moved his family back to Hancock.

He is survived by his brother, Sandy Phippen of Hancock; his good friend, Carol Mangels of Brooklin; his second wife, Janet Carlin of Georgia; children, Gary Spaulding, Sandra Clark, Robert Clark, Jr., Julie Clark and Mike Clark; grandchildren, Jason Ball, Crystal Armstrong, TJ and Courtney Wheeler, Amanda Turner, Robert Clark III, Mikey Clark and Jeremy Clark; great-grandchildren, Lilly Ball, Brittany Moulton, Nicky Colson, Alexis Ashland, Emma Clark, Abby, Jocelyn, Reagan and Rose Turner, Aaliyah and Landon Colson and Michael Gary Clark.

Calling hours will be held 5:00-7:00, September 14, 2018 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth where a memorial service will be held 10:00 AM, September 15, 2018 with a reception to follow. A private graveside
service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Hancock
