Obituary for Robert T. "Bob" Davis Sr.
Bar Harbor
Robert T. Davis Sr., 89, died December 30, 2017 at MDI Hospital, Bar Harbor. He was born October 30, 1928 in Bar Harbor the son of Martin and Mildred (Hogan) Davis.
Bob was known for his infectious smile, tinkering with small engines and a wealth of family history. He loved to garden and in his early years worked at the Rockefeller Gardens, Miller Gardens and the estate of Gilbert H. Montague in Seal Harbor. At his home along with his garden he had apple trees and a high bush blueberry bush. The one bush yielded many quarts of blueberries annually. Bob was a great cook known for his blueberry muffins, apple pie and apple turnovers Bob was married to the love of his life Gloria A. Coffron for 46 years and they had five children. He enjoyed lobstering and clamming thru out his life. He later worked for the Bar Harbor Water Company for 30 years before retiring. Bob enjoyed summertime rides in his Model A watching the deer and getting ice cream. Bob shared amazing stories about his full and adventurist life with all. Bob loved his children, grandchildren ,great grandchildren and great- great- grandchildren and was known and loved by many.
Bob is survived by his four children: Robert T. Davis Jr. and fiancé Kandi Crawford of Bar Harbor, Forrest M. Davis Sr. and wife Laurie of Sullivan; Barbara Breard and husband Lee of Oakland and Wendy Jo Davis, of Ellsworth;
many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife in 1996, his daughter Diane Pritchard in 2012; two sisters Grace Rodd and Mildred Wilkinson; a brother Gordon Davis.
Friends are invited to call Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 10-11:00am at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert where funeral services will follow at 11am with Pastor Scott Records presiding. Spring interment will be at Ledgelawn Cemetery, Bar Harbor.
