Obituary for Evelyn Carolyn Pelletier (Plourde)

Evelyn Carolyn  Pelletier (Plourde)
Ellsworth -- Evelyn Carolyn (Plourde) Pelletier, known to her friends as Carolyn, 73, passed peacefully on March 31, 2017, at an Ellsworth hospital with her family at her side. She was born on April 28, 1943, in Fort Kent, Maine, the daughter of Amie and Leontine Alma (Plourde) Plourde.

Carolyn graduated from Fort Kent High School, class of 1961. Shortly after graduation, she married Ralph Pelletier and moved with her family to Portage, Maine. Carolyn was a housewife for over twenty years. Later in her marriage, she worked at the local restaurant and the ice cream bar.

After her divorce, she moved to Connecticut and was employed by Ensign Bickford for over ten years. Carolyn retired in 1998 and moved to Ellsworth, Maine, thereafter. She was a volunteer at the Maine Coast Memorial Hospital and was adored by the staff for her pop-over’s and other culinary skills. Carolyn was a faithful parishioner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Carolyn is survived by her daughter Tammy Lyn (Pelletier) Carney and her husband, Timothy, of Hancock; her sons, Bruce Pelletier of Augusta and Cary Pelletier and his wife, Bonnie (Berry), of Ashland; her sisters, Bernice Roy and her husband, Roger, of Frenchville, Lillian Caron and her husband, Richard, of Connecticut, Glenda Plourde of Eagle Lake, and Lucy Martin and her husband, Roderick, of Florida; her brothers, Roy Plourde (Carol Oakes) of Tennessee, Elson Plourde (Annette St. Onge) of Florida, and Wallace Plourde and his wife, Sandy (Fritz), of Connecticut; six grandchildren; three sister-in-laws; Priscilla, Mildred and Micheline “Mimi” Plourde; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents and former husband Ralph; her brothers, Alton, Ernie, Sylvio and Gilton Plourde ; her sisters, Theresa Michaud, Sylvia Levesque and Phillis Dominicus.

A Mass of Christen Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Thurs, April 6, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 231 Main Street, Ellsworth. Interment will be at Portage Lake Municipal Cemetery, Portage.
