Obituary for Nancy Carol Manning

Nancy Carol Manning
Trenton
Nancy Carol Manning, 82, died January 4,2017 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She was bom in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 6,1934 the daughter of Harry and Doris (Shockey) Miller.

She had a happy childhood with her mother, father, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was raised in the Catholic Church and loved animals. She loved taking care of animals, walking in the woods, and floating on a raft on the Ohio River. She loved her grandmother’s cooking and listening to her talk with her neighbor on the porch. Nancy's life-long happiness was riding and taking care of horses. Her earliest memory was checking the feet of the big horses delivering milk to Cincinnati homes. In her youth, Nancy worked at Woolworth 5 & 10, Cincinnati Telephone Company, and Arthur Murray Studio. Nancy was a model and traveled the world. She was a young mother to her sons Page and Larry and her daughter Heather. Married for 50 years to her husband George, Nancy was the center of her family as they raised their children and enjoyed animals of every sort. When George called home, she was usually in the barn. Nancy was an adventurer and the family moved to the craggy shores and piney woods of Maine in the year 2000. She loved the beauty of the ocean, lakes, and forest. Nancy’s happiness was raising her children and being with her animals. She lived a blessed life and was loved by everyone. When Nancy had a stroke in 1990, the doctor said she was blessed by God. She said, "Yes, head of the animals."

Nancy, a beloved wife and mother is survived by her husband, George; children Page, Larry and Heather; grandchildren, Billy, Jessie and Emma. She will be forever loved.
