Life Story for Nancy Lou Walls

Seal Harbor

Nancy Lou Walls, 80 died September 9, 2016 at a Bangor Hospital. She was born March 28, 1935 in Otter Creek the daughter of Lewis Franklin and Colinette (Turnball) Leland.

Nancy graduated from Mt. Desert High School, Northeast Harbor in 1954. She married her beloved husband of 62 years, Edgar Nickerson Walls on October 3, 1954. They shared a wonderful life together and had two daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren that filled their lives. Nancy was a past member of The Abby Chapel, UCC of Seal Harbor; an avid quilter; a member of the Island Quilter’s and truly enjoyed the time and friendship she shared with the Tuesday Quilting Group.

Besides her husband, Nancy is survived by two daughters, Kathy Norwood and husband Bruce of Town Hill and Linda Szeliga and husband James, New Market, NH; four grandchildren, Justin Norwood and wife Katy, Drew Szeliga and wife Elizabeth; Jessica Seavey and husband Cody, Duncan Szeliga and wife Katy Mae; six great-grandchildren, Lily, Avery, Luke, Westley, Grafton and Elena; her best friend and sister, Sylvia Smith and husband Rodney; many nieces, nephews, brothers and sister-in-laws and special friends. Nancy was predeceased by a brother Gordon Leland.

A Memorial Service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main Street, Mt. Desert. Interment will be at Seal Harbor Cemetery with reception to follow at Seal Harbor Community Center.
