Obituary for Richard Lawrence Reed
Richard Lawrence Reed, 87, died August 22, 2016 in Bar Harbor. He was born June 24, 1929 in Tremont, the son of Hollis Gardner and Lillian May (Rich) Reed.
He was a 65 year member of the Tremont Masonic Lodge #77A.F. and A.M and had dual membership with Lygonia Masonic Lodge #40 A.F. and A .M. of Ellsworth. Richard was a kind and will liked employee of H.G. Reed General Store.
He is survived by 4 sons; Lawrence Reed and wife, Catherine of South Carolina,Wayne Reed and wife, Paula of North Yarmouth, Paul Reed and wife, Cynthia of Southwest Harbor and Karl Reed and wife, Marlene of Ellsworth, a sister, Emma Richards. Grandchildren; David and Katelin Reed, Jason Clough, Randi O’Rourke and Joshua Tewell.
Richard was predeceased by 5 brothers: Hobart, W. Stanley, Clayton, Gardner and Hollis Jr., 4 sisters: Eunice, Charlotte, Natalie and Kathlyn and by a grandchild, Joseph Tewell.
Graveside services will be held 10:00AM, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Hillrest Cemetery, West Tremont.
