The Island Tour

Many years ago, I had a friend who got married in Maine and I couldn't go to the state without visitng the Island as well. Roy and his friend, Herm, took me on The Tour. The two of them knew more about the island and it's inhabitants than I could have imagined. I heard stories about my father and my uncle, Neil and Vernon Lunt, and their antics as children. I learned about the history of the island, and the people who inhabited it.

I was fortuntate to later take trips there with my father, my sisters, and other family members,The trip with Roy and Herm as my guides stands out, as they were the two who first introduced me to the the Island I came to love. The last time I saw Roy, he brought moose meat to the cabins on Clark's Cove so we could make moose meatloaf for the family. My sisters and I were all struck with how much Roy and my father looked alike - there was an incredible family resemblance.

Jackie, please know that I am sure Dad was there, to welcome Roy, and the two of them are undoubtedly sharing stories and sipping a drink. You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
