Obituary for Nelson L. Emerton
Franklin
Nelson L. Emerton, 72, of Franklin passed away surrounded by his family on August 20, 2015. He was born March 31, 1943 in Blue Hill to the late Lillian and Harry Emerton.
Nelson graduated from Wells High School in 1961 and married his wife of 49 years, Virginia Emerton, in December of 1965.
Nelson was a member of the Eastern Maine Model Railroad Club and enjoyed fishing, old-westerns, reading, country music, woodworking, carpentry, his grand dogs, and spending time outside. He loved to travel and drove the family across country in a camper. He also visited Europe, Bermuda, Mexico and Canada. Nelson could always bring joy to those around him. His crafty wit and smile were contagious.
Nelson is survived by his wife Virginia and his 5 children, Todd Emerton, of Bristol, VT, Ross Emerton, of Yarmouth, ME, Scott Emerton, of Deerfield, NH, Dawn Anderson, of Harspwell, ME, and Cathy Sargent, of Franklin, ME.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Franklin Veteran’s Club at 1pm on Saturday, September 19, 2015.
