Obituary for Jackie Marvin Young

COREA
Jackie Marvin Young, 74, died May 24, 2010 at a Bangor hospital. He was born in Corea, August 28, 1935 the son of Kenneth and Bessie (Marston) Young.
Jackie attended school in Winter Harbor and after graduating from Sumner High School he served in the U. S. Navy. He spent his life lobstering. He was an avid hunter of coyotes and bobcats. In earlier years he enjoyed coaching Little League, umpiring and playing softball. He will be sadly missed by his two canine friends, Ruger who hunted with him and Louie.
He is survived by his wife Susan McPherson Young of Corea; daughter, Donna Scott and husband Robert of Sullivan; stepdaughter, Lucretia Russell and husband Scott of Dayton; grandchildren, Beverly Grindle, Heather Scott, Katrina Scott-Willette, Jeremiah Young, Jessica Young; great-grandchildren, Elise Sargent, Evan Haskell; nephews, Alvin Dyer, Jr., Mason Young, Kenneth Colson, Russell Colson; niece, Nicole Young; brother, Newman Young and wife Stephanie of Gouldsboro; sister, Ramona Dyer and husband Alvin “Jack”, Sr. He was predeceased by his parents; son, Vernon W. Young; sister, Christina Crowley and nephew, Alden Dyer.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 pm, Friday, May 28, 2010 with a reception following the service until 3:00 pm at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth
