Condolence From: Paula J Dunbar
Condolence: Just saw this tribute to Nancy ~ so beautiful Kirstie ~ we were all so lucky to have her in our lives. After, my mom died and I spent half my life at Auntie, Uncle and Nancy's house ~ Nancy became ever more important to me ~ Alot of the same things Kirstie mentioned were part of our relationship ~ piano and sing-a-longs that always ended with "How Great though Art", for Auntie. She took me to lunch every week, for fried haddock at Cuz's Cafe(she worked there,, sometimes, so she always went to the kitchen for extra tartar sauce!) and drove me to school everyday ~ she was small of stature and I can still remember her legs reaching for the gas, brake and clutch, and her small hands shifting the big column gear shift) She spent endless hours playing games with me and taking me with her to Bar Harbor 'to look for sailors',(she always joked) and for ice cream! With Auntie and Uncle and Nancy, to the Wagon Wheel Take-Out for fried clams and a toy at Newberry's almost every Friday night ~ When our kids were born, she, Auntie and Uncle, babysat for us, anytime, we asked, and were at al the the birthday parties and any celbration or event that our family was involved in ~ She took wonderful care of Auntie and Uncle, as they aged, and remembered so many people on their birthdays and special times ~She loved to gamble and won alot, giving most of her treasures to friends and family! She loved country music, especially, from her good friend Danny Harper, who gave her a private concert at Courtland! She thought more of others than she did herself ~ I cannot imagine how many people's hearts she touched ~ A wonderful person that I loved and will, ever, miss ~ Love you, Nanc ~

Condolence From: Kirstie Dunbar-Kari
Condolence: Nancy May Reed passed away early this morning. She was one of the most significant people in my life. My godmother, aunt, and friend. Secret pen pal in grammar school and a weekly correspondent while I was away at college. Piano instructor when I was little and my solo ensemble accompanist. She was a lover of all music (especially country). Our family photographer with a camera or two or three always handy. She read tons of books to us and was a life long avid reader, her bookshelves spilling over with new books. She spoiled us with over the top birthday & Christmas presents and bag presents too. (I think bag presents were her invention= gifts on your siblings birthdays so you wouldn’t feel left out of the fun.) An expert typist who cranked out many last minute term papers for me. Attendee of every school event, ballet, concert or play we were in. Simply the best Aunt. She was dedicated like that to everyone in her life. I loved her very much and miss her already.
