Obituary for Danny E. Bryant

Danny E. Bryant, 75, quietly passed away on Feb. 28, 2018, after bravely fighting Alzheimer’s. Danny was born on October 26, 1942, in Connecticut, to Percy A. and Mary E. Bryant.
He graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1962. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Husson College in 1966. Where he was pledge master at his fraternity.
Danny had a long career as senior analyst for the U.S. Treasury Department. He started in Bangor, Me. and moved to St. Joseph, Mo in 1979, followed by moves to Cincinnati, Oh. in 1982, Washington D.C. in 1987 and ending in Washington D.C. when he retired in 1999.
He moved back to Bar Harbor, where he promptly started remodeling his home and building a garage. Satisfied with the garage he built an amazing wood shop in the upstairs of the garage. He built numerous items for Helen and the house.
It didn’t take long for him to find a second home at Jordan’s Restaurant. He prided himself as being one of the first ones there every morning. Saturday was his day with his best friend Ed Jackson. Early Saturday mornings you could find them in Ellsworth for breakfast then a trip to Home Depot.
He is survived by his longtime partner Helen Gill. His ex-wife Lynn Richmond, his daughter Denice Young, his grandchildren Aaron Young, Ayden Young and great grandson Weston Young. He was predeceased by his son Reid Bryant.
Per Danny’s wishes there will be no service. A private family service will be held at Ledgelawn Cemetery later.
