Obituary for Mary Ann Waldron

Winter Harbor

Mary Ann Waldron, 76, died February 13, 2018 at her home. She was born January 31, 1942 in Teaneck, New Jersey the daughter of Aubrey W. and Helen (Stantial) Jones.

Mary Ann moved to Massachusetts as a toddler and lived in Melrose and Malden. She graduated from Fryeburg Academy and Simmons College. She worked as a Medical Technological Associate of clinical pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital for 35 years. During her time at the hospital she managed the regional parasitology laboratory and taught parasitology to students at Harvard Medical School.

Nearly 40 years ago she and her husband, Robert J. Waldron, found land in Winter Harbor to build a home. They spent as much time as they could in Winter Harbor working on their home and becoming part of the community. They became full-time residents of Winter Harbor in 2002 when Mary Ann retired.

She is survived by a niece, three nephews and two 1st cousins along with their families. She was predeceased by her husband in 2008 and her older sister, Elizabeth Shirley, in 2016.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery, Winter Harbor.
