Life Story for Ronald R. Allen Jr.

Ronald R. Allen Jr.
Brooksville -- Ronald R. Allen Jr., 44, died unexpectedly January 21, 2018, while ice fishing with his son on Parker’s Pond in Brooksville. He was born May 24, 1973 in Bangor Maine, the son of Leroy and Gayle Hamm.

Ron graduated from Bangor High School in 1992. He went directly to into the army, serving in Germany and in Haiti during the civil uprising. Upon discharge he returned home and worked various jobs, including carpentry and masonry but particularly enjoyed working on lobster boats as a stern man. Ron often attended other lodges in nearby towns. Ron coached a softball team made up of family and close friends called Ron’s Rednecks and faithfully assisted with the Jared C. Grindle Softball Tournament Scholarship committee. He would always lend a helping hand to his neighbors with whatever projects they had going and would lend a hand to those in need. He also would often be found during storms helping clear trees from the roadways. He enjoyed fishing any time of the year, but was always excited when ice fishing season came. Ron was an avid sportsman and enjoyed taking his children hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed relaxing with his many friends, having a beer, telling tales, arguing about, or watching sports, or playing cribbage.

Ron is survived by his parents Gayle and Leroy Hamm of Bucksport, his wife Sally Blake, his daughter Taylor Allen, his son Hunter Allen, his beloved granddaughter Laynee Sands, his sisters Laurie and Harold Gray and special friend Dale Dunham of Penobscot, Patty Severance of Bucksport, Bonnie and Mike Clark of Belfast, Billie Allen and Fred Swift of Stockton Springs. Several nieces and nephews, Shawn, Bubba, Kayla, Tara, Meagan, Michael, Kaylee, Tony and Greg and several great nieces and nephews, and several extended family members, as well as many, many close and dear friends. He is predeceased by his nephew Joshua and his Auntie Bert.

A service will be held at the Brooksville Community Center at 12:00 on February 3, 2018. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. We would also like to thank the Tapley’s, Lymburner’s and the Brooksville Fire Department for their assistance.
