Obituary for Katherine A. Sawyer
Katherine A. Sawyer, 89, died January 8, 2018 at an Ellsworth healthcare facility. She was born in Trenton, December 16, 1928, the daughter of William and Sara (Cousins) Alley.
She and her husband Gerard E. were married for 46 years. They enjoyed square dancing and snowmobiling together. Katherine was very sociable and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Katherine was an avid knitter. She was a member of the Church of our Father in Hulls Cove.
She is survived by two sons, Gerard L. Sawyer and wife Linda of New Port Richey, FL, and Allen W. Sawyer and partner, Judy Caminiti of Trenton; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Delores “Dimp” Sawyer; and extended Alley family. She was predeceased by her husband in 1993 and daughter, Sally Chamberlain in 2002.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, May 19, 2018 at the Church of our Father, Hulls Cove. Interment will be at Leland Cemetery, Trenton.
