Lamoine -- Carlton L. Mitchell, Jr., 63, died suddenly at his home December 06, 2017. He was born in Chicago, IL, July 09, 1954 the son of Carlton L. and Gloria Elaine (Phelps) Mitchell, Sr

Carlton did over the road trucking in Florida in his earlier years. After moving to Maine he worked for Cianbro & Dragon for many years. He had been a bus driver for the towns of Lamoine and Ellsworth.

He enjoyed camping, family cookouts, boating and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed playing pool and loved video pool.

Carlton is survived by his wife of 31 years, Rebecca J. (Grindle); his parents; sons, Travis Mitchell and wife Emmi of Presque Isle, Paul Mitchell of Hancock and Ben Rudolph and significant other Amanda of South Carolina; brothers, Lawrence Mitchell of Bar Harbor and Ken Mitchell and wife Sonya of Trenton; grandchildren, Carlton Mitchell III, Tyler Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell; mother-in-law, Mima Grindle of Lamoine; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth with Pastor Bob Maddocks officiating.

Contributions in Carlton’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
