Phyllis S.  Partridge (Scribner)
Mt. Desert -- Phyllis S. Partridge, 90, died October 14, 2017 at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 14, 1927 in Harrison, ME., the daughter of Edward and Mabel (Pitman) Scribner.

Phyllis attended schools in Harrison and graduated from Norway High School and The Wilson School of Laboratory and X-Ray Techniques in Boston. She received her B.S. and MED from the University of Maine in Orono. She worked in several clinics and hospitals. Later she taught first/second grade at Mount Desert Elementary School. After retirement she was the librarian at the Somesville Library, at which she remained very active until her death.

Phyllis was married to Charles Partridge and they had four children, Jean, Beth, Judith and David.

She was a life time member of Oxford Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, a member of St. Mary and St. Jude Episcopal Church in Northeast Harbor and associate member of the Union Church in Somesville. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Theta chapter (an honorary teaching society), the Retired Teachers Association of Hancock County, the MEA-retired and the Woman’s Literary Club of Mt. Desert. Phyllis was on the board of trustees of the Somesville Library and the Brookside Cemetery Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Beth Walls and husband Gary of Lincoln City, Oregon , Judith Mitchell and husband Wayne and one son, David Partridge and wife Kathy, all of Bar Harbor; four grandsons, five great-grandchildren and two brothers, Bourdon and Daniel Scribner of Harrison, ME. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband, The Rev. Charles Partridge, her daughter, Jean and her two sisters, Catherine Calef and Lucy Reynolds.

Memorial services will be held 1pm, Friday, October 20, 2017 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert with Rev. Jane Cornman officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery, Mt. Desert.
