Richard Dudman provided me with with wise counsel and valuable mentorship at a key moment in my evolution as a writer more than 35 years ago, not to mention numerous introductions to important people in Washington, at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and throughout journalism. I am deeply grateful that my life path crossed with a human being of his values and vision at that moment. My condolences to his family. I will always remember him.
