Glenna P.  Ellis (Smith)
Gouldsboro--Glenna P. (Smith) Ellis, 88, passed away peacefully May 20, 2017 surrounded by her family at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. She was born in Ventura, CA, August 12, 1928 the daughter of Glenn and Pearl Cecil Smith.

She graduated from Ventura High School in 1946. She then went to work for the US Navy in Port Hueneme, CA. where she met her future husband at an USO dance. She married Raymond S. Ellis of Natick, MA, July 2, 1949, in Las Vegas; they have been married for 68 years. After raising a family in Natick, MA, she went into the business world in cost accounting. In 1987 she retired and moved to Gouldsboro where she enjoyed spending her time living on the coast of Maine. She loved the ocean, the wildlife and beauty. One of her favorite ways to spend a day was walking the shoreline in search of shells, sea glass, arrow heads, rocks and sand dollars. She enjoyed her whole life dancing with her husband, especially the Texas two step and polka. She also spent many years traveling with the Shriner’s camping group. She was a wonderful devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was the highlight of her life. She was a wonderful cook. A few of her favorite dishes were Mexican food, apple pie, refrigerator cookies and cheese potatoes which were enjoyed by all the family. She will be fondly remembered for her big, strong loving hugs.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Ellis; children, Donald Ellis and Kris Ellis Montalbano; grandsons, Dennis Ellis and wife Jess and James Montalbano and wife Lisa; granddaughters, Sarah Ellis Goodspeed and husband Ray and Julie Montalbano Almlov and husband Erik; great-grandchildren, Jake, Makenzie, Emily, Nicholas and Allison; brother, Robert Smith; sister, Donna Dillard; daughter-in-law, Susan Ellis, her son’s companion, Vickie Brown; sister-in-law, Virginia Ellis; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her dear cat Mocha. She is predeceased by her sisters, Georgia, Joyce and Illa; brother-in-law, Ronald Ellis; and son-in-law, Nicholas Montalbano

There will be a graveside service in her hometown of Ventura, CA. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
