Patsy Lee  Ward
Patsy Lee Ward, 93, died May 2, 2017 in Bar Harbor, ME. She was born November 10, 1923 in Ironton, OH, the daughter of Clarence J. and Ollie M. (Bowe) Mackebee.

Patsy grew up in Flatwoods, and after high school attended Morehead State University, Morehead, KY, where she earned a Bachelors in Education, and met and married Kenneth H. Ward.

During WWII, Patsy and Ken both worked for the U.S. Government in the Panama Canal Zone. After the war they settled in Ohio, where Patsy continued to work for the government, then transitioned to a 20+ year career as an elementary school teacher in the Beavercreek Schools. In retirement, Patsy and Ken lived in Jamestown, OH; Lakeland, FL; Flatwoods, KY; Sun City Center, FL. After Ken’s death, Patsy moved to Bar Harbor, ME.

Patsy was a past member of the Beech Street Christian Church, in Ashland, KY.

Patsy is survived by her son Kenneth R. Ward and wife Wendy, of Ellsworth, ME, and granddaughter Elan M. Ward, of Wilmington, NC.
She was predeceased by her husband; daughter, Linda Ellen Ward; two brothers, Jack R. Mackebee and Clarence J. Mackebee, Jr.; and three sisters, Lois Wyant, Mae Breeden and Carolyn Ryan.

Graveside Services will be held Saturday May 6, at 11 AM at Belfonte Memorial Park, Flatwoods, KY.
