The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles Wheeler can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: On behalf of my family and myself,Id like to say that we are sorry for the Wheeler family's loss. You don't need me to tell you what a good man Charlie was, but I will tell you he was like a beacon in the night more times than I can remember when we lived in Hancock and he was our service man for our furnace. No matter what the weather, day or night, he was there for us. He was a civic minded man and it showed through what ever he was wearing when you saw him. Keeping so many of us warm in our homes, keeping so many of us safe crossing Route 1, or helping out with the fire department. He was a good man, and his dear wife Joanne was always so kind when she'd answer the phone (even if it was 1 A.M.). I hope you and she will be together on the "other side" and have some uninterrupted time together again. Thank you for all you did for my family and countless others Mr. Wheeler, you were a wonderful person, and I feel sure you will be a wonderful angel. Most Sincerely, Randee Kovacs

Condolence: For more than a decade and a half, our Sunday started by greeting Charlie as he gave us safe passage across Rt 1 and into church. His cheerful good morning was an important part of our weekly ritual... Sending our sincere condolences to his family... 💞

Condolence: Charlie will always be with us, sharing kindness and respect to all. No matter what time of day or night if you needed a helping hand, you could count on Charlie. He would show up as a firefighter/policeman or standing in the middle of the road directing traffic for the church-this is one Man that you could count on. God Bless (Rest In Peace) You will never be forgotten.
