Obituary for Constance Arlene Newman

Constance “Connie” Arlene Newman, 82, died, with her family by her side, August 16, 2015 in Ellsworth. She was born March 07, 1933 in Salisbury Cove, the daughter of Clarence Alden and Teresa Winona (Renshaw) Mitchell.
Connie attended Bar Harbor schools. She worked 30 years as a bookkeeper with her husband, Tom at Acadia Express. Connie enjoyed gardening, cottage caretaking and she loved animals.
Connie is survived by her beloved husband; Thomas Newman; three sons, Thomas Michael Newman and wife, Diana of Southwest Harbor, Jeffrey Newman and wife, Kim of SC., and David Newman and wife, Vicki of Ellsworth; one daughter, Susan Cecere and husband, Michael of Virginia; brother, Dennis Mitchell and wife, Jean and one sister, Janet Bowden of Waldo; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces ,nephews and cousins. Connie was predeceased by her twin sister, Corice Seavey and by her sister, Leona Gilley.
Friends are invited to call 4:00-6:00PM, Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mt. Desert, where funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Friday. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery, Town Hill.
