Obituary for Ruth Elizabeth Orcutt

Swans Island
Ruth Elizabeth Orcutt, 91, died July 11, 2015 at an Ellsworth healthcare facility with her family by her side. She was born August 27, 1923 on Swans Island the daughter of Raphia D. and Elizabeth (Stinson) Smith.
Ruth loved to garden and enjoyed the wonderful colors of her flowers. Her church was important to her. For many years she had been a faithful member, past Sunday school teacher and served on many committees of the Swans Island Methodist Church. Her favorite treat as many know was a “Dairy Joy”.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Jane Savage and husband Clay of Swans Island; daughter-in-law, Pam Orcutt of Waterboro; 6 grandchildren, Ian Savage and wife Silvia Hillmann, Noel Savage and fiancé Sophie Landres, all of Brooklyn, NY, Gavin Savage of Swans Island, Brian Orcutt and fiancé Deanna Belanger, Cheryl Orcutt all of Waterboro and Michael Orcutt and wife Suzanne of Dexter; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Merrill S. Orcutt and son David S. Orcutt.
Funeral Services will be held 11a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the Swans Island Methodist Church. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Swans Island.
