Obituary for Carol A. Young

FRANKLIN
Carol A. Young, 68, passed away November 7, 2012 at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor. She was born November 10, 1943 in Brewer, daughter of Luther and Gladys (Boone) Walls.
Carol grew up in Brewer and graduated from Brewer High School in 1962. She met Ivan Young in 1966 and was married November 15, 1969 in Brewer. They started their life together in Newburgh and moved to Franklin in 1975. Carol worked for the Town of Franklin for 23 years and volunteered at the Franklin Veterans Club for Beano night. Carol enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking, especially making doughnuts and whoopie pies. She was very proud to use her antique cookware and appliances to cook. Many of her hats and gloves she made went to charity organizations. Carol was a very giving and loving woman. She absolutely loved gallivanting around with her best friend, Ginny Emerton and loved going to camp at East Grand Lake.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Ivan of Franklin; sons, Ivan Gordon Young II and his wife Lori Lin of North Pole, Alaska, Richard Young and wife Cate of Ellsworth, Royce Young and wife Kristina of Newburgh; son-in-law, Scott Brown of Hancock; grandchildren, Michael, Keegan, Hunter, Logan, Madison, Haleigh, Aiden Sophia, and Kelsey; step-grandchildren, Michelle and Amy; brothers, Wayne Walls and wife Judy, Robert Walls and wife Marie; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and her daughter, Wendy Sue Brown.
Calling hours will be held 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St. Ellsworth where a funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 15 with Michael Page officiating.
