Obituary for Doris Owen

Blue Hill
Doris Alberta Owen, 69, died peacefully March 27, 2011 at a Blue Hill hospital. She was born August 4, 1941 in Blue Hill the daughter of Frederick and Doris (Grindle) Owen. She was a graduate of George Stevens Academy.
Doris worked at the Union Trust Company for 44 years. She enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas. She loved feeding the birds and eating out with her friends from work. Her favorite hobby involved anything with a motor including a snowmobile, tractor and a self made dune buggy.
She is survived by her sister, Joyce Hopkins, and husband, Ron; a niece, Tambra Hopkins and husband, Dave; a nephew, Grant Hopkins and wife, Lisa; close cousins, Gary Owen and wife, Dorothy, and Carol Bakeman; step-mother, Alma Gray and husband, Gaylor and their children Bonnie Scholl and Scott Gray. She also leaves many caring friends and neighbors. She was predeceased by her parents, a nephew, Paul Hopkins and an Aunt, Florence Owen who raised her from the time she was born as a pre-mature baby.
Graveside Services will be held in the spring at Seaside Cemetery, Blue Hill. Those who desire may make contributions in Doris’s memory to the Blue Hill Fire Dept., P.O. Box 1167, Blue Hill, 04614 or the Peninsula Ambulance, P.O. Box 500, Blue Hill, 04614.
