Obituary for Gwendola Mae Ockels
Gwendola Mae Ockels, 62, died September 19, 2009 at a Bangor hospital. She was born September 12, 1947 in Greenbush the daughter of Ivory G. and Martha Elizabeth Bailey.
She was a member of the Rebekah’s of Blue Hill and the Bible study at the First Baptist Church. Gwendola worked as a CNA doing private duty. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved supporting local sporting events.
Gwendola is survived by Donald L. Ockels; son, Matthew Ockels of CO.; daughter, Faye Allen and husband, David of Sedgwick; sisters, Diane Bailey of CT and Lisha Snigier, DE; two grandchildren, Joshua Allen and Samuel Allen. She was predeceased by her parents; daughter, Julie Ann Ockels; brother, Roger Bailey and a sister, Fern Gagnon.
Friends are invited to call 1:00-2:00PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Blue Hill, where funeral services will be held at 2:00PM with Pastors Stephen and Sheila Heneise officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill. Contributions in Gwendola’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 836, Blue Hill, ME or to the Roger Bailey Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o GSA, 3 Union St., Blue Hill, ME 04614
