Obituary for Hilda E. Quinn

Hilda E. (Burke) Quinn, 85, widow of William H. Quinn died Sunday September 30, 2007 at a Bangor hospital with her family at her side. Born in Milbridge on October 20,1921 Hilda was a daughter of Henry and Eunice (Tracy) Burke, both deceased.
A graduate of Milbridge High School, Hilda married William Quinn in 1942. They resided in Augusta for many years where Hilda was employed by the Department of Human Services until her retirement in 1972. Following retirement, Hilda and Bill resided at their camp at Sebago Lake where they enjoyed many summers fishing for the Sebago salmon. Winters they spent at Zephyrhills, Florida. In 1994, they moved to Ellsworth. Hilda is survived by her daughter, Betty (Quinn) Chiappone and her husband Anthony; two grandsons, Nino Chiappone and his wife, Melanie; Dominic Chiappone and his wife, Diane and two great grandsons, Anthony and Christopher Chiappone all of Orrington. She is also survived by three sisters, Marguerite Donnell OF Franklin, Bessie Martin of Sullivan, Hazel Fraccola of Milbridge; one sister-in-law, Marian Burke of Machias and several nieces and nephews. Hilda will also be remembered by neighbors Dana and Sandra Nelson, who provided so many acts of kindness for her and for whom the family is very appreciative. Hilda was predeceased by her beloved husband William "Bill" Quinn in 1996; two brothers, Henry and Merrill "Jack" Burke and four sisters, Nola Burke, Beatrice Turner, Zelma "Sonnie" Mitchell and Gertrude Whicher. At Hilda's request there will be no visiting hours. Committal services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, October 4, 2007 at LeClair Chapel, Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta. Contributions in Hilda’s memory may be made to Healthcare Charities, P O Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931 or the charity of ones choice.
